During the ender dragon fight, the dragon will occasionally swoop into the pregenerated portal frame at which point he becomes stuck, turning around on the bedrock pillar several times before escaping again. This causes the destruction of the torches on the frame, but the bedrock remains. Possible the dragon AI is attempting to break the bedrock blocks?
