Maps track fine normally, however, upon visiting the Nether and returning to the overworld, all maps in the world will stop tracking the player and the white arrow/dot will be stuck wherever it was prior to travel to the Nether. (If the player didn't hold the map prior to Nether travel, white arrow will not even show up)

      Notes:
-Singleplayer, does not affect OTHER players in multiplayer unless they also visit the nether
-Copying the map does not correct them (new OR old)
-Completely fresh maps will work correctly until next Nether visit
-Unknown if visiting the End will cause the same issue
-Restarting Minecraft/Re-entering the world fixes the maps
      -Gamemode does not matter
-Map can be displayed, held, or in a chest, and will still be affected

In the picture below, a white arrow should be overlapping the green arrow, since my character is standing right next to the same map displayed on a wall.
