Respawn Screen is Stuck

      I died on a multiplayer server and now I am stuck in the respawn screen. The options I can choose are grayed out and I cant do anything but quit minecraft. I have tried re-sizing my screen but the buttons stay gray. I rejoined and I am still dead. (I think the server wont let you starve, if that helps)

      What I expected to happen was...:
      I died so I though I would be able to respawn.

      What actually happened was...:
      Buttons grayed out. Can't exit the screen.
