I created a thread on the Minecraft Forums, in a hopeful attempt to solve what was wrong with my system, and why these new "optimization" snapshots were not increasing framerates. I instead found that many others, on wide varieties of systems, were also receiving framerate drops. See the thread here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/recent-updates-and-snapshots/2173539-is-anybody-else-receiving-more-lag-after-the
I figured that since you guys imported multithreaded rendering, that framerate would skyrocket in the snapshots.
Instead, I (and many others) found that framerate was rather atrocious and unacceptable for our system specifications, in comparison to 1.7.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Simply start up a game
2. Sprinting will often cause extremely high chunk updates, thus creating lag.
