Bed says its been destroyed and it wasn't?

I set my bed down, and slept in it. I woke up the next day and went into the nether. I fell in lava but I wasn't worried because I didn't have that much stuff. But then when I click "respawn" I go back to my natural spawn point and a message that says "Your bed has been missing or obstructed" even though it hasn't? I don't know how to fix, its frustrating when I have to walk far to my base everytime I die.
