      I put 2 redstone dust next to each other and they both pointed the wrong way. Instead of pointing like – they were pointing ||.

      What I expected to happen was...:
      The redstone just to connect.

      What actually happened was...:
      They didn't connect right.

      1. Put two redstone dust next to each other.
