When the End in generated, the bedrock blocks the end crystals "spawn" on are not generated, resulting in the crystals being 1 block lower than normal. There also appears to be a 1 block hole under where the bedrock block should be.

EDIT: the hole is created when the crystal is destroyed, tis just normal obsidian until that point
