When you get into a minecart on a slope, you sit too low. Like, head inside minecart low.Your feet go into a sitting position on the block beneath, which is below the minecart as it is a slope. This issue is extant since 1.6.2 (probably 1.6.1). Solution: place player accoring to base of minecart instead of block base.
