The Enderman AI was updated, along with everything else. However, a few things are missing.

Endermen do not teleport when in water. They will continue to take damage until they die.

They stop worrying about players after a short period of time.

They seem to be faster, making their walking comical. Combine that with the semi-random pathfinding, you end up laughing at them more than considering them a threat.
