Unconfirmed
Sticky Pistons were appearing randomly, in the middle of nowhere. Could this be an act of Herobrine? I'm glad I backed up my worlds. Was playing on a server, client and server on 14w02c.
What I expected to happen was...:
Minecraft to act normally. Duh.
What actually happened was...:
I was flying around, and saw some pistons in the distance. Upon inspecting them, I noticed they were powered. When I gave the base of the piston a block update, the base of the piston disappeared, the arm remaining. On another piston, I destroyed the base. The arm remained and vice versa. They seemed to be in random orientations, none replicated anything I had built with pistons. My first encounter with this bug was in the over world (it might have been in 1.7.4 but I can't remember), but as this was on a multiplayer server I figured someone had placed it. Earlier on today, I found more rouge pistons in the end, so I hopped into creative mode and went to inspect the pistons, this was when I realised this must be a bug - I know for sure no-one would place pistons there, and since the pistons were bugging out this HAS to be a bug.
Steps to Reproduce:
I'm not really sure.
