When I tried to activate a pillar of pistons on top of each other, random ones didn't activate.

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected the pistons to all activate, thus forming a pillar of double the height, to make a drawbridge that could open and close.

      What actually happened was...:
Some of the pistons activated, about half, but the rest didn't.

      Steps to Reproduce:
      1. Stack some pistons facing up on top of each other (I used six, then tried with other amounts and got the same results).
      2. Create a redstone signal that should activate all the pistons, using redstone, redstone repeaters, and staircases to reach all of the pistons.
      3. Use a daylight sensor exposed to the sun to activate the redstone and send the signal.

I'd like to apologize that this is such a difficult issue to describe, but I'm hoping you can figure it out. I may also just not be following the rules of piston activation correctly, but if that is the problem, I'd like to suggest changing those rules so that pistons can be activated in rows and pillars by easier methods. I'll also include a screenshot of my mechanism to help in its recreation (I removed the platforms holding the redstone to the pistons). Thank You!
