I loaded up my Minecraft world in creative mode and music started playing as normal. However, on switching my game mode to survival, the music stopped playing. It wasn't until I switched back to Creative that the music started playing again. I switched my game mode to survival and re-loaded the world. Sure enough, the music played for me when in survival, but when switching to creative it stopped. Weirdly enough, it still played on switching to Adventure Mode.
