Wolves

I was messing around on an island in the ocean
when I spotted some wolves, I was looking for bugs, and well... I got 2 of them.

I hit one of them and as I expected they attacked me, but the wierd thing was, they did no damage, I then hit them to see if it was temporary, but they never did any damage. The next bug was that when I punched them into the nearby water. They reverted into regular wolves. I have no clue why, but they just did, I went back to make a house, and a few seconds later they were aggressive again. I killed them but I know that was a glitch.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a world in survival (haven't tested in creative)
2. Find or spawn some wolves
3. Hit one of them
4.(to test other one) Punch one or all of them into water
