I've spent a reasonable amount of time exploring new terrain in the snapshot and have not noticed a single branched oak tree in any of the forest biomes (or ForestHills biomes) I've seen. While I'm not certain that they can no longer generate, they're at least quite rare. I'm not sure whether this is intentional, but branched oaks have been a feature of forests for quite some time.
