Dear community,
I would like to report a bug that’s about the mechanics of loaded minecarts.
In my world I am running a train consisting of 12 minecarts, as one unit.
They are running at consistent speed on a powered rail track, while I am flying 200 blocks away.
The issue:
As soon as I reload the chunks, where the minecarts run, I see them still running and have the same distance to each other(regarding the direction of travel), however some minecarts turn out to be misaligned, but still moving at the same speed. Partially the are minecarts, that are up to 1-2 blocks next to the rail.
I believe, that this is not supposed to happen. On the video Minecraft is running with fabric, but I also experimented in Minecraft vanilla without any mods, and the same issue occurred.
What I expected to happen was, that the minecarts should have run normally. In my video one minecart is misaligned from its rail.
version: vanilla 1.20.6
on a newly generated minecraft vanilla single-player world, no modifications
How to reproduce:
- build a rail station like this (see 2 screenshots or link
- https://youtu.be/c5YQTi5tZ24?si=gUK_9kt9zi-wg-h1) timing of redstone repeaters need to be exact. The sticky pistons push the stripped oak logs, which act as "stoppers" and the minecarts do not overshoot the rail because of the right timing.
- (set entity-distance to 50%, render distance as low as possible together with max shadow and simulation distance) not necessary
- build a rail track (powered rail, but in curves: normal rail)
- let the train(unit of multiple minecarts) depart from its station
- immediately fly away, until all chunks in the train area unload
- unload the chunks again after a time(at least 5 seconds)
- observe the moving minecarts(as I did in my uploaded video)
