I live out in the sticks of USA WA, and only have access to satellite internet at home which has a normal ping of 700 - 2200ms. Minecraft is one of a very few muliplayer games that works very well over such a huge ping. Other then just waiting a little longer for things like doors, chests, crafting tables, red stone, and mining to do it's thing the game plays with no problems other then a few little annoyances. (Monsters are big pests with the server side lag advantage so I mostly hide in my huge tower bases. )

This is not so much a bug but a request. The biggest latency annoyance is when mining or digging out an area very fast the server may not register a block mined but my client side does and so moving forward into the area I just mined I run into invisible blocks and the server pushes me back. (Invalid movement?) I can either place blocks around the area to make that invisible block update and become visible, or disconnect and rejoin (15 seconds later.) to see the block and remove it. This gets very annoying when I'm strip mining. It happens a lot with enchanted power tools as they mine faster then my internet can stay synced and I get lots of invisible blocks.

My request is that a function be added to Minecraft, when the server pushes you back because of an invalid movement, like walking into or threw a block that is not on the client side but is still on the server that it also forces the client to update that block/s that caused the invalid movement so you can see them.

This would make mining much easier as any invisible blocks that I run into would update letting me remove them and continue mining. No more waiting to rejoin the server just to be able to see some stupid blocks that didn't registered getting mined.

Or maybe an update nearest clunks chat command?
