The bug
The texture used for the vignette when near the world border is the same as the texture used for the vignette in dark places. This is unexpected due to the vignette for nausea having its own texture file; it'd be expected as a result of that that the world border vignette and darkness vignette would use different textures as well, but this is not the case.
How to reproduce
A resource pack is attached to this ticket that retextures the normal vignette to "V" and the nausea vignette to "N".
- Go into a dark place
- Go near the world border
- Eat a pufferfish
Expected results
The world border would not cause a V to appear on screen, and would be something different, like how the pufferfish creates an "N".
Actual results
It does create a V.
How to fix
Introduce a dedicated texture file for the world border vignette. This may also fix MC-139741.
