(As I do not want to modify this report after its triage status has been set, I would like to clarify the most recent comments on this issue provide important context to the bug)
Players with the weaving effect will move quicker through cobwebs on foot, but when gliding with an elytra will have no movement speed increase. Currently, it's not completely clear if flying/gliding entities should be allowed to move quicker through cobwebs with weaving due to MC-269961 blocking the behavior for entities such as; phantoms ghasts, and parrots.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Place down a row of cobwebs
(high enough to glide into for a prolonged period of time) - Equip an elytra
- Fly into the cobwebs
→ observe flight/gliding speed - Give the player weaving
/effect give @p minecraft:weaving infinite 255 true
- Repeat step 3
→ observe flight/gliding speed
Observed Behavior:
The player will move the same speed with, or without the weaving effect applied when using an elytra despite moving ~50% quicker when they are on foot with the effect.
Expected Behavior:
The player would be able to move through the cobwebs quicker, both on foot, and with an elytra.
