Minecraft lava flows and lava lakes generate too close to forests and structures. I had a single lava source burn down part of a village by generating next to a house. A lava lake destroyed a good portion of the forest I was building in before I noticed it. I've had lava sources burn down mineshaft bridges. One time, a broken nether portal generated near a village, burning down the only two structures with beds in them. Lava generating near structures hurts the game experience. Players should be able to discover structures fully intact. There should be code that prevents lava lakes and sources from generating too close to anything flammable like trees but especially structures. It seems pointless to generate a lava lake in the middle of a forest. I don't want to have to play with fire tick set to off. Fire is an aspect of the game which still needs to be balanced. Nerfing fire is not the answer, but rather fixing how and when lava generates.
