      The bug

      When 2x2 spruce trees are grown in small areas, sometimes the podzol replaces blocks that are not at the top, as shown in the image. The moss blocks in this image are for demonstration purposes, and it works identical for dirt.

      How to reproduce

      1. Dig a 6 by 6 pit, 4 blocks deep, on a flat dirt ground.
      2. Plant 4 spruce saplings in the middle, and grow it.
      3. Notice how on the side of the pit, there is podzol created 3 blocks up from the bottom of the pit, even though there is dirt covering it.
