When you're in creative mode, and pick up an axolotl using a water bucket (how else would you) It works as intended. When you place it it still works normally, but when you fill it back up with water, it take away the source block, but your bucket doesn't fill up. This is really annoying, because you need a full bucket to pick up the axolotl back up.
