The so-called "ender pearl stasis chamber" — a live ender pearl preserved in a bubble column for later activation — was made possible by the resolution of MC-73884, and is, arguably, an exploit. Some say that it is not standard gameplay for players to be able to teleport an inventory full of goods 100k+ blocks, instantly avoiding all the risk of travel. This steals much of the supposed use-cases of ender chests and llamas.

Is this behavior intended to be part of vanilla gameplay, or would this properly be considered an exploit?
