When in contact with a large amount of experience orbs that are floating around the players face blocking their vision there are times where you can see through the experience orbs and when looking at chests you are not able to see them but you are able to see the blocks around and behind them they turn partially invisible where the orbs block the view of the chest.

How to recreate: 

gather a large amount of experience orbs around the player at one time.

when the experience orbs begin to block player vision is when it will happen if player is looking at a chest.

you can also experience it by gathering a large amount of experience orbs and stand ontop of a chest and look down. (as seen in the attached picture taken at an enderman farm in survival play)
