If you throw a stack of items (any item, used dirt in this example) onto the ground and then shuffle your inventory so that it is full, and have a small amount of those blocks already in your inventory (ie 4), the stack of blocks you threw on the ground will be absorbed into the available inventory space. Then, the visual bug becomes apparent. Despite there only being 4 dropped items remaining on the ground, the stack of dropped items appears much larger than it actually is. It retains the visuals of an entire stack of dirt, while only being four items, which is easy to spot if you look close.

It appears the bug only affects the visuals; it does not duplicate the items, despite appearing to be a larger stack.
