As seen in the attached video, a creeper dropped from a height of about 4 blocks above my player inside a cave and began to explode as I turned around without playing the usual creeper explosion hiss. I suspect it could have something to do with the creeper landing at the same time it began to explode but I have no idea how the game handles the stuff in regards to that. The "hiss" near the end of the attached clip is just me sucking air in because I knew I was dead as soon as I saw the creeper.
Unknown exactly how to replicate:
I tried to replicate the issue by spawning a creeper on a platform 4 blocks above my player and having the creeper drop on top of it but was unable to make the hissing sound fail to play.
I also found issues MC12082 and MC170721 which don't seem to have a fix for it and seem to be dead reports marked as resolved.
Edit: Added second clip showing the creeper not making the explosion sound. Also no errors in my client log OR server log.
