Zombie Piglins who are able to pick up items will continuously pick up swords and swap them out. There appears to be no limit to the number of swords. It stops the items from despawning creating lots of lag as well as being extremely noisy.

As you can see in the pictures attached, the arrangement of swords is constantly changing, and the zombie piglins are picking up all of them.
