When in creative you are unable to break doors while holding a sword

What I expected to happen was...:
the door to break instantly

What actually happened was...:
the door did not break

Steps to Reproduce:
1. hold a sword in your inventory in creative mode
2. try and break the door

Im not sure if this is intentional but it makes it much harder to switch between creative and adventure mode when testing maps, where i sometimes require to break a door?
