My world reset

I started playing Minecraft recently on java, but before that I was a die-hard bedrock fan. I started a single player world and I have been playing it for the past couple days. Not too long ago I came into contact with a bug that reset my world completely, but for some reason my character file seems untouched. My inventory was still there and I spawned into the world underground, where my base was. I started suffocating and when I popped up to the surface, my farms were gone and my storage. somehow I didn't even spawn back at world spawn which is a good distance away. I ran into a similar bug on bedrock but my inventory was wiped instead of the world, but that was on my Xbox not my computer.
