When I am trying to plant the wheat seed in the middlemost chunk of a 7x7 dirt area, all the seeds directly to the side of the block (cross pattern) in the middle pop up out of the ground as items instantly. The seeds also pop up occasionally by themselves, even if the middlemost chunk consists of air.
