Baby striders standing on an adult outside of lava do not turn blue or shiver

What I expected to happen was...:
The baby strider should turn blue and shiver

What actually happened was...:
Used a spawn egg to spawn a strider outside of lava. The strider spawned with a baby on its head, but the baby did not turn cold or blue. Baby striders on the ground (not standing on an adult) do turn blue.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a strider spawn egg to spawn striders on land until you get one with a baby on its head
2. Observe that the baby does not turn blue
