Some of the new blocks are not used in recipes they should be used in following existing conventions, such as cut and chiseled sandstone being able to craft sandstone stairs and slabs. Purpur stairs and slabs can also be crafted from purpur pillars. Quartz stairs and slabs can also be crafted from chiseled and pillar variants.

• Chiseled Nether Bricks cannot be used to craft Nether Brick Slabs, Stairs, and Fences
• (Red) Cut and Chiseled Sandstone cannot be used to (Red) Sandstone Walls
• Chiseled Polished Blackstone cannot be used to craft Polished Blackstone Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Buttons, or Pressure Plates
• Chiseled Stone Bricks cannot be used to craft Stone Brick Stairs, Slabs, or Walls
• Chiseled Deepslate cannot be used to craft Cobbled Deepslate Slabs, Stairs, or Walls
• Cracked Brick variants, as well as Cracked Deepslate Tiles, cannot be used to craft their respective Slabs, Stairs, or Walls
• Quartz Bricks and Pillars cannot be crafted from other quartz variants
• Quartz Bricks cannot be used to craft Quartz Stairs and Slabs
