When you take falldamage after having levitation 255 you bounce a hunderd or so blocks into the air for apparently no reason. This only happens if you take falldamage, so it cannot happen when you are in creative. Having a high enough jump boost level also stops you from taking falldamage, so that also negates it. For some reason the damage just gives you an insane amount of momentum upwards.

Levitation 255 is generally used in command creations and datapacks as it stops you from either floating up or down. Taking falldamage afterwards is obviously something that will occur regularly.
