      The Bug:

      Blocks are occasionally rendered too dark upon being instantly mined.

      Steps to Reproduce:

      1. Summon a large area of sand and give yourself a diamond shovel enchanted with efficiency by using the commands provided below. 
        /fill ~1 ~ ~1 ~10 ~4 ~10 minecraft:sand
        /give @s minecraft:diamond_shovel[enchantments={levels:{"minecraft:efficiency":5}}]
      2. Switch into survival mode and mine several blocks of sand using your shovel.
      3. Look closely at the sand blocks as they're mined.
      4. Take note as to whether or not blocks are occasionally rendered too dark upon being instantly mined.

      Observed Behavior:

      Blocks are occasionally rendered too dark.

      Expected Behavior:

      Blocks would never be rendered too dark.
