When jumping on the boat, I will receive fall damage. It doesn't happen everytime, only when player is stuck in the boat and the pov jitter. 
I noticed that other people had mentioned this problem before (MC-155744), but the issue was closed because of a modified game. I am playing on the official Minecraft Launcher and vanilla game.
 
What I expected to happen was...:
When I am jumping on the boat, I shouldn't receive fall damage. 
 
What actually happened was...:
Instead, I received fall damage based on how many times I jump. The more, the greater. 
 
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put a boat in the water.
2. Get in the boat and press "Shift". Or jump onto the boat anyway.
3. If the player is stuck and the pov jitter, jump multiple times. Fall damage received.
