When riding in a boat, sometimes when you fire an arrow at some other target youre aiming at, it will hit your other passenger in the boat, like a dog or parrot or something.
Steps to reproduce:
- Place any type of boat in water (bug still works if the boat is beached on land or in water) and put a 'passenger' entity in it. A dog works as an example to identify this bug.
- Enter the boat with the passenger entity sitting behind you
- Equip a bow and enough ammo and fire it in a couple directions till you see this happen. Usually happens if you aim it down or in a direction to the extreme left or right, aiming down a bit. Seems like the arrow bounces for a sec before it hits the passenger.
Happens with flame and regular arrows. In earlier updates like 1.12.2, the passenger would get hit and take damage when you shoot an arrow in almost any direction, and in 1.14.2, it happens when you shoot an arrow down or directly vertically down, or to the extreme left or right. In both scenarios it still shouldn't damage your passenger. A similar problem which is still open is related to this and might have a similar cause, about fired arrows hitting the boat or minecart you are in and causing it to be destroyed: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-48320
Another issue marked as resolved which needs to be reopened in 1.14.2 because it is still happening about your own fired arrows hitting the horse you are riding may have a very similar cause: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-13727
