When playing in 1.14 survival, placing a block or breaking it would create a very big lag spike. The game usually renders at more than 60 FPS but when that happens, for an instance, the game goes into 1 FPS and the imputs also lag, making it harder to place blocks without making mistakes.
In my experience, it happened more often with blocks like wood planks and cobblestone, but that could not matter.
