Shulker boxes create dark spots on block They stand on, and it can be seen from far away when shulker boxes are not rendered.

Steps to Reproduce

1. (Optional) Turn down your entity render distance
2. Create a large flat wall (recommended is 10x10 or larger, using white blocks for contrast)
3. Place shulker boxes directly in front of the wall
4. Move far away from the wall

Observed Behavior:

The shulker boxes disappear, and the wall is filled with shadow.

Expected Result:

The shulker boxes would disappear, and the wall would appear as though it had no shulker boxes on it (considering they are not visible, no shadow should be made).

This is supported by the fact that shulker box entities do not have the same result as shulker boxes when they disappear on a wall:
