end gateways generated upon defeating the ender dragon do not send the player to the intended destination at the outer islands, instead sending the player to the location they entered the end from, above the 5x5 obsidian platform

when using commands to remove the end gateway, then place another end gateway in its place with the /setblock command, the gateway will then teleport the player around 700 blocks away from the main island, instead of the intended 1000 to reach the outer islands, while also generating a very small island underneath the exit gateway. the outer islands spawn as usual, but the player is required to bridge across the ~300 block gap because of this.
