Game screen loading issue

What I expected to happen was...:
I should see the world environment.

What actually happened was...:
Once I load the game I float in an endless blackness. Seeing nothing but stars and a small 2 block water area. No particles etc. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Logged in using normal Minecraft Snapshot

2 Created a new world

3. Logged into world. After a few minutes of play the world disappears going black like the night sky. Movement etc appears to stop and the character remains floating in the endless night infinitely. 

4. after several minutes appeared in a tree stuck glitching  up and down.

5. Logged off after sending this bug report. Will attempt further play
