What I expected to happen was...:
i expected to get the uncooked food from the animals i killed 

What actually happened

i was killing mooshroom cows and didn't realise for a bit that I was actually getting steak, at first i thought maybe it was a feature but then went to another biome and it happened with all the animals 

i checked to see if i had fire aspect on the sword i was using but I didn't
