Unconfirmed
When a block is placed above the void with no other blocks near the area of 0 0 0, it freezes for a second.
It seems to stop happening farther away it doesn't seem to do much frame drops. It seems to only happen when the block is surrounded on all 4 sides.
Here's a video showing the bug as explaining it is harder.
Update #1: It seems that pistons also do the same thing but they have weird activity (The same with hand placed blocks)

A list of blocks where the lag spike doesn't happen:
Glass, Colored Glass
Torch, End Rod, Chest, Ladder, Fences, Iron Bars, Glass Panes, Vines, Enchanting Table, End Portal Frame, Ender Chest, Cobble Stone Walls, Anvils, Carpets, Slime Block, Bed, Flower Pot (Flower Pots Float?), Skulls, Banners.
Sticky Piston, Piston, Lever, Redstone Torch, Trapdoors, Gates, Trip Wire Hook, Buttons, Trapped Chest, Daylight Detector, Hopper
Turtle Egg
Cake
Brewing Stand, Cauldron
These are all the blocks I could place without commands. Mostly they're the transparent ones. Weird that a Enchantment Table is here but not the Farmland or Path blocks. Is it because the Enchantment Table has a animated book on it and causes particles?
