"EDIT 11/8/12: Issue Resolved, Intentional"
The new addition of the tripwires in 1.3 was great, but ever since, an annoying bug has remained with them. Basically, placing down a piece of string on the ground creates an un-bugged tripwire. However, if you right click while holding another piece of string on top of the one you just placed, another tripwire is placed, strangely floating in mid-air.
The string should not function like this, and should act like redstone when right clicked on top of with another piece; nothing.
The string floated and could not be connected with any higher wall tripwire hooks.
1. Place a tripwire sting down, as long as there is 1 block (or more) above it.
2. Right click with another string on the top part of it's hitbox. This will result in the easy-to-find bug.
