I do not believe this is a duplicate report as the other reports I have found only refer to fall damage when paired with high levels of levitation while this report refers to damage in general.
With levitation amplifiers above 127, players will be launched into the air whenever they are exposed to anything that would damage them even if they cannot be damaged due to resistance 5+ or modified armour.
This is extremely irritating for mapmakers and command block "developers" such as myself. The levitation effect is useful for creating many things such as survival flight, parachutes, and slow-motion yet this bug ruins that by launching players.
Levitation also does not prevent fall damage meaning that with reverse levitation (levitation above 127), players who hit the ground will be launched. This will continue until they die.
