MInecraft application Crashing

So the bug i'm having trouble with is that when i got to craft logs into wood planks as it should it crashes causing my world to start from where it last logged on i tried to see if it happened on my desktop rather then my laptop and same thing happened
the way this gets triggered for me is that i go to any tree punch the logs then go to turn them into wood planks through your inventory then it goes to what looks like the generating screen then crashes
