This is a feature requrest (there is no "Issue Type" category for it).
-
Unconfirmed
I know this is not the first time this has been requested (in the bug tracker and on the forum) so I figured reopening the issue might make a point about this being something that is really desired by players.
Particularly, I am talking about mixing slabs of different types. I realize this would require the introduction of new blocks (since two slabs in the same block get combined) but it does look like most of the work is done: Obviously, multiple items can already be dropped when mining a single block (e.g., mining coral ore), even if the items are of different types (e.g., mining chests).
The only minor issue I can think of (without any knowledge of the code base, obviously) is full block breaking time. It could perhaps be an average.
This feature would be particularly useful for making a floors and ceilings of different types one block tall. It's silly to go up a staircase/ladder and see a floor/ceiling that is as tall as the player and requires making building unecessarily tall.
Please, please make this possible, you guys.
Thanks so much.
