When activating the Fishing Rod at an attitude far from the horizon, the bobber will proceed to float to an odd depth before resting.

For example, if the player launches the fishing rod with their cursor well below the horizon (for example, 45° below the horizon), the bobber will proceed to float upwards past the water surface and levitate above the surface.

Likewise, if the player launches the fishing rod with their cursor well above the horizon (for example, 45° above the horizon), the bobber will proceed to float up to a point beneath the water's surface and remain submerged.

Note that the bobber's position does change when things happen; the bobber "twitch" still causes slight movement relative to the bobber's at-rest position, and when the bobber is tugged down due to a caught item, the movement still takes place relative to the position of the bobber.
