When I am writing coordinates in my book and quill, I write them and then when I exit out the book and later re-enter it, my progress is deleted. I was on a realm so it might be that or something I don't really know. I don't have another in game way of keeping coordinate.

Boats would also despawn when I get out of them and I'd lose my boat in the middle of the ocean but it hasn't seemed to happen since the latest patch.

Edit: It works on single player but not realms.
