I click the Play button and the Minecraft Launcher pops up. But then a message pops up stating launcher has stopped. Options are to search for a solution online, or debug, or close the program.

What I expected to happen was...:

Normally the game loads and I am able to play Minecraft

What actually happened was...:

I haven't played since the new update, I suspect something with that has caused this to happen. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled and still the same issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put a step by step guide on how to trigger the bug here
2. ... I click minecraft to open it
3. ... Click Play and bug happens.
