Discovered while testing translations for Minecraft Legends' "Recommended System Requirements" section.
The Bug:
The string "OS" (for "Operating system") is used across multiple system requirement pages in the Minecraft Launcher. As some of these pages use different casings for their system requirement parameters (Upper case and Sentence case), translations are limited for languages that use the full name instead of the abbreviation. (See the attachment).
Below is a table for the affected string with a link to the string on Crowdin.
This bug is also reproducible in the latest beta version b.2.3.645 (New Windows App).
Affected String:
String | String Contexts | String URL on Crowdin |
---|---|---|
OS | ..\..\apps\launcher\src\components\UpsellPDP\GameSystemRequirements\index.tsx:140 ..\..\apps\launcher\src\routes\Products\routes\Play\components\SystemRequirements\index.tsx:75 |
https://crowdin.com/translate/minecraft-launcher/9420/en-sv#5271489 |
Steps to Reproduce:
- Locate the affected string on Crowdin.
- Make note of the string having two context keys.
The string can also be compared with similar strings found by searching for "SystemRequirements" on Crowdin.
Observed Behavior:
A single string is used for the system requirement pages in the Launcher.
Expected Behavior:
Multiple strings are used for the system requirement pages in the Launcher.
