I have a Microsoft account for bedrock edition that was purchased when Minecraft bedrock was was still called Minecraft pocket edition. I can still use this account to this day to play Minecraft bedrock on my pc and other compatible devices. When I found out I could get java edition for free I tried to do what the official Mojang page said to and I followed the steps installing the new launcher and signing into it with the same Microsoft account. I do not recall seeing a popup saying "You already own bedrock, Get java edition as a bonus". The new launcher lets me open and play bedrock edition just fine. But here's where I have an issue, when I click play and try to type in my username for java I am unable to play it because a popup in the top right shows up every time saying Unable to create profile. I thought this could be a bug with the new launcher and I tried creating my account on the old launcher but instead of the play button saying "Play" it says "Play demo", meaning I cant even attempt to make my account there. I then logged into minecraft.net to see if there were any ways I could redeem a java account or download the bundled game but there were only links to the Microsoft store and other ways of purchasing the game. My profile says that I own bedrock edition but it says I have to buy java. On the Microsoft store the java and bedrock game says that I can play it with game pass or I can buy it for $29.99. But on the Xbox app theres a button to play or install it that says its installed but it still prompts me with a screen that lets me choose what to play and java edition is the only one that does not have a play button next to it. To my knowledge my Microsoft account does not have any age restrictions or an under aged birth dates that could be preventing any games being added to my library. I see a lot of other people having this issue and I thought I would provide my personal experience and screenshots to help others with the same problem.

In my screenshot of the old launcher it wants me to switch to my old Mojang account that was migrated. I have a java account already but it uses a completely different Microsoft account. On that account I have access to both versions just fine but I paid for them separately before the bundle was announced. The bedrock account tied to that Microsoft account is different than the one I am trying to use now. I'm not sure if that is related to this problem. I would assume not simply because the Microsoft accounts are different.

I have the bundle installed apparently but java edition was not installed on it. It says not available and that it needs administrator approval for installation. I suppose that's why theres a play button by the launcher and Bedrock edition but not java.
